What can you do with Microgreens

One question I regularly get asked is...what can you do with microgreens??? There are so many uses for microgeens I feel like I need to make them rhyme like Dr. Sesus. You can use them for your foodie, you can use them in a smoothie, you can use them in your stir fry, you can put them on your fries. Okay, I am definetly no Dr. Sesus and not a rhymer but hopefully I gave you a little laugh!!

Each variety of microgreens come with its own flavor profile. From the more subtle varities like sunflower and pea to the more spicy varieties like radish and arugula there is a different taste profile to compliment any dish. Some of the most common uses are to add them to salads or eat them plain as a snack. However, they are so many additional uses that people forget about. Microgreens make a great addition to any smoothie adding great nutrtients without overwhelming your smoothie profile. Or how about adding it to your breakfast egg dishes. I recently traveled to Maui. It was a beautiful place to visit and somewhere I highly recommend everyone to visit, at least once. While in Maui we visited a restaurant for breakfast. I had vegetable hash dish with a poached egg. And sitting right on top of the poached egg were a few beauftiul radish microgreens. By added those few little microgreens the dish was completely elevated. Normally a softer texutered dish with sauted vegetables and paoched egg the radish microgreen added some crunch, a little spice, and was a beautfil presentation. At home we put all sorts of microgreens on our eggs. The kids don't realize they are actually getting great nutrients, it adds some crunch and elevates the flavor profile. Do you like sandwiches?? How about elevating your sandwiches flavor profile by adding microgreens in place of lettuce, or even better some spicy microgreens...yum!! Or what about this...add some cantaloupe microgreens to your peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Cantaloupe microgreens are softer than other microgreens with a cucumber/melon taste. They are very unique and would make a great addition to sandwiches or maybe even some desserts!! Add them as a topper on tacos, pizza or make a pesto from them. The possibilities are truly endless.

With all this talk about food I am hungry. I am off to try some new recipes and flavor profiles! In the meantime...check out two of these recipes that I found from other microgreen lovers! What will you try next??
